Not So Unscathed After All

Description

None of them know about it, any of it. The time he spent down there - in the damp, darkness of the holding cells beneath the Wizengamot chambers. Nor have they caught glimpse of the scars left behind or heard a whisper from behind his door even though he screams in his sleep from the nightmares.

He had always been good at keeping to himself and hiding away what he didn't want the world to know - and he didn't want anyone to know about that.

But then again - fate had never really liked letting him have his way.

"Merlin's beard Perce!! Your Arm!!"

Your choice who it is who spots Percy's scars first.

Alright - about this pic.

Well, I've read a few fics along these lines and the image has just stuck.

We learn in DH that whilst the Weasley's are in hiding, Percy is still in the Ministry (at least, that's the image I got when he said "it's been a long time coming" implying that it had only just happened).

Am I the only person who has a little bit of faith in the Death Eaters abilities as story book villains? :D

Let's think about it logically.
It is well know that Harry is close to the Weasley's - correct?
It is also well known that the Weasley's are nothing if not a close, protective and decidedly territorial bunch - right?

As such - if you had one Weasley child in your clutches - whether they like to think of them-self as separate from the family or not - chances are, if you do something to said child - the rest of the family will come wands a-blazing.
And if you have the entire Weasley family in their clutches - chances are the great Harry Potter will come running to help - that hero complex is a lovely trait to have in one's prey.
And if you are the one to present Harry Potter to Voldermort...well - just flip through to the Malfoy Manor chapter before everything went to hell :D

Anyway - in this pic - the Death Eaters did just that. They took Percy to lure in the family.
Buuuut that was about as far as I got.
I don't know how - but somehow - he was either released or escaped. It really is your choice (feel free to share ideas with me, I would like to know how it ends too :))

Anyway - story aside, I hope that you like this.
The background is not mine of course - I can't find where I got the image from - on google images somewhere.

Anyway - thanks for reading through this all...or just skipping to the end to this point to see if there was anything interesting toowards the end (nice choice - there wasn't all that much of interest in the middle.)

Anyway - all comment are appreciated and once again - I hope you like it :D

I love Percy.  he is so underrated as a character.  I totally understand why he left and didn't come back right away.  The younger Weasley siblings were horrible to him and being accused of being a potential traitor is devastating.  I like to think that he was working as a spy against the Ministry.  Everyone dubbed him as a traitor.  I don't see Aberforth helping him without trusting him first, thus my spy theory.  I love your theory also.
